Categories and type

  • these two are used together for filtering bases. Topic:
  • This is used for high level linking

the general structure of my notes

  • category: every note has one of these <--- the category always exists as a note in 'Home'
  • type: used in conjunction with the category in bases to filter together the above are for the base tables to organise things (references generally), people, organisations, etc

Next

  • Topic: this is where the linking happens, the topic doesn't even need to exist

Note progression:

Category: Journal The title is timestamped and can have a description, the contents are heavy linked

  • Type: Log. quick entry, cat: journal, type: log. <--- everything starts like this
    • it's quick, at the time, thought out of head, into a note
    • every week, few days, etc, revisit and link label, flesh out, delete (don't think I can do this)
    • the
  • Type: Diary/Reflection
    • self explanatory, this isn't something that will develop over time, it's a core memory

Category: Note This is my body of knowledge it's self. It's mine. A Journal entry can be promoted to note with some work. The title isn't timestamped, it has it's own title.

  • Type: This is generally either structural type, knowledge type, or process type.
    • MOC, guide, concept, summary, project, or blank
  • Topic: this is where the high-level linking happens
