what happened today
on me ADHD Medication
Took 54mg concerta instead of 20mg elvanse, just to see the difference before 2025.12.19.We medication review. I noticed the kick-in in the morning, more than elvanse, but I found myself not working on my assignment until around 6 hours in. This co-incised with the release profile peak. I noticed this and around 16:00 I crushed 15mg of Medikinet XL and took that. This seems to work quite well, and I was able to focus and actually write, without constant restarting and rewriting, over and over.
on completing my assignment
I finally completed my Access to HE Diploma (Medicine) Professional Behaviours Assessment. The course should be around 600 hours of work in total, with this assessment being 25 hours of that. Unfortunately, I've spend 60.5 hours on it. Where did it all go wrong? I'm thinking a combination of a few things:
- I'm not that quick at writing, while I can generate good work, it just takes time
- I'm not used to academic writing, I've been learning a lot about the PEER system and trying to apply it.
- The subject just isn't interesting, so I've struggled to engage with it.
- Some of the questions required me to remember and reflect on past experiences. My memory is terrible, this took ages to come up with some experiences, in the end I just made some up.
- I have a tendency to write a section, then rewrite it, then rewrite it again, then again, and so on. I end up generating pages of text, that's just going no where, stuck in the introduction. I think this is a mix of not knowing understanding the material enough, me ADHD, and perfectionism. But this is the most frustrating part of the process for me. This, and the first section, have been hard work for me. The first assessment involved creating a personal statement for a medicine application, so I approached as though it would be used in my actual application.
I don't know what issues are caused by me ADHD, and how much my knowledge defcit. The knowledge deficit I'll work on, hopefully as me ADHD Medication is titrated I'll have all the bases covered.
